This year at ICPD 2016 in Wageningen, PROHEALTH had a dedicated morning session incorporated into the conference scientific programme on Thursday 23rd June. The session was chaired by Professor Ilias Kyriazakis from Newcastle University- our PROHEALTH project leader. There were two invited speakers for the session: Professor Jens Peter Christensen from the University of Copenhagen (a PROHEALTH partner) and Professor Anne Bourdon from École Polytechnique. We were delighted to host 10 speakers during the session, with seven posters also presented during the PROHEALTH poster session.
This conference session provided an ideal opportunity to highlight the scientific progress made within the PROHEALTH project to date, and also enabled knowledge exchange between PROHEALTH and other external researchers to help advance our understanding towards production diseases of pigs and poultry. We would like to thank the ICPD organisers and speakers for making this session a success, and we look forward to sharing new results at other upcoming conferences.
